Niccolò Paganini Guitar Festival

The “Niccolò Paganini Guitar Festival” is an international event dedicated to the six-stringed instrument. For the past eighteen years, the Festival has attracted to Parma thousands of visitors and the world’s foremost Paganini scholars, as well as students, music lovers, master luthiers, and music critics interested in the greatest violinist of all times.

The 18th edition involved the cities of Parma, Vienna and Warsaw and saw the participation of more than 3,500 spectators and artists from the four corners of the world, Including Mexico, Russia, Armenia, Germany, Canada, Hungary, China and Ukraine. The Festival comprises concerts with internationally renowned artists and engages students from Italian Music Schools and Colleges. Featuring the Paganini Youth Guitar Orchestra, consisting of 150 young musicians from all over Italy, the Festival includes a prestigious competition for young guitarists. Two exhibitions complement the programme: one dedicated to Historic Luthiery, with guitars that belonged to Niccolò Paganini and Mauro Giuliani, the other a collection of Modern Luthiery, plus master classes, lectures and conferences.
