ArtLab is the inspiring and powerful, cross sectorial, independent Italian platform, dedicated to innovating practices and policies in and through arts and culture by the structured dialogue among the key stakeholders of the cultural and creative ecosystem, in an international perspective. Initiated in 2006 by Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, it is based on a partnership of over 40 Italian and European cultural networks, national cultural institutes, municipalities / regional authorities and agencies, businesses, banking foundations, cultural and creative umbrella organizations, universities.
The partners contribute to the sustainability, programming and dissemination of the outcomes of the workshops, training sessions, pitches, projects meetings, B2B, networking events.
During the Mantua event in September 2017 (“2018 European year of cultural heritage: visions towards the future”), hundreds of professionals, inspired by 40+ papers, drafted their recommendations for innovative action to enhance material, immaterial and digital cultural heritage in 2018 and beyond. The resulting documents will be published in a e-book.
In 2018, Cultural and creative industries and heritage will be the main theme in Milan and Bari-Matera while Festivals between experimentation and local development, Intercultural dialogue and new citizens, Heritage, reconstruction and local development, Cultural institutions, Innovation and new citizens, Audience Development, Cultural heritage in the digital age will be under scrutiny during the satellite events hosted in Palermo by Nuove Pratiche Festival, Genoa by the SUQ Festival, Treia by the Soft Economy Festival, Mantua by FattidiCultura and Frankfurt during TheArts+.
