Faro Convention and the Heritage Communities
Ca' Foscari, Venezia, VE, Italia
A Conference promoting the Convention of the Council of Europe on the social value of cultural heritage. Its main goal is to focus on the current status of this Convention in Italy, considering its hopefully imminent ratification by the State, and to specifically consider strategies shared by various heritage communities, acting as bridges between local governments and citizens.
On Sunday, 8 April before the conference, a heritage walk around the island of Murano will take place, to encounter and encourage the foundation of a local heritage community linked to the tradition of glassmaking. In the evening there will be an opportunity in the ancient town centre to meet various representatives of heritage communities and associations, for informal discussions and an exchange of views.
