Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue in the Musical Tradition

Via E. Ramirez de Montalvo, 1, 50141 Firenze, FI, Italia

From 15/09/2018 to 31/12/2018, Firenze

Italian and non-European cultural and musical heritage research, study and dissemination project. Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze and other local bodies conserve a great many documents and books collecting medieval and Renaissance vocal music scores which have never been transcribed into modern notation and belong to the Florentine and Italian tradition. The project is split into two parts: the first is a research study into practically unknown codices involving transcribing these from numatic to modern notation making them accessible to performers. The second part is a study of the transcribed choral repertoire and its popularisation and performance during cultural events and specific conferences.
