The Chapel of the Holy Shroud between history and restoration

On the occasion of the reopening of the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, the Royal Museums with the Diocese, the MIBAC (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities) Regional Secretary for Piedmont, and the Authority for Archaeology, Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Turin organised the international study congress “Un capolavoro dell’architettura barocca: la Cappella della Sindone a Torino tra storia e restauro”. On Friday, 28 September, the focus will be on the construction stages of the Chapel and the events surrounding the Holy Shroud between symbolism, devotion and history of architecture. On Saturday, 29 September, the theme will be architectural restoration and the technical aspects of the extraordinary refurbishment, with major speakers from the worksite.
