This year, the event, which will host Masks from all over Italy, joining one another to parade through the city, is the seventh edition.
The Italian Masks event combines culture and theatre, traditions and history, products and production. In this way it helps to sustain the Italian cultural heritage, which is made up of popular traditions, dialects, typical products, architectural beauties and stunning environments. Additionally, over the last few years, the events has increasingly become more of a tourist attraction for Parma, recognised with the establishment of the “national centre for the coordination of Italian masks” as Capital of Italian Masks.

This year, the event will involve theSan Leonardo neighbourhood, (important city location but one in need of new energy and greater supervision due to the issues that have emerged following the changes in its economic and social fabric) in a bid to also demonstrate the social role that the Mask can play today, combining the spirit of fun
