Cultural heritage, let’s talk about it

From 01/01/2018 to 31/05/2018, Abruzzo

A cycle of five meetings entitled PATRIMONIO CULTURALE, PARLIAMONE will be held from January to May 2018 in various locations of the Abruzzo region. The purpose of the initiative is to inform and raise the awareness of certain categories of the public about some of the many angles from which cultural heritage can be perceived: in terms of its self-identifying, social, educational profiles and its value as an economic driving force.

The activities on offer aim to raise the awareness of as wide a range of citizens as possible, especially young audiences: Abruzzo hosts three universities, including one in the area that comes under the competence of the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for Abruzzo (Chieti-Pescara and Teramo). However, the general feeling is that our knowledge of the universe of cultural heritage is still not well-defined and has not been updated to include a grasp of the most prominent themes discussed by the work done over the last few years as a result of the European policies established in this field. It is therefore essential to focus on themes such as our heritage as a common asset and identity-builder, and heritage as an economic driving force and also a generator of welfare.
